The 11th Mitsubishi Electric gala celebrated on 6th november 2025 at the iconic Torre Glòries in Barcelona became the perfect setting for a very special artistic encounter: the fusion of taiko and shamisen.
On this occasion, we had the privilege of collaborating with José Luque, an exceptional artist who not only performs the shamisen with unique sensitivity and strength, but also builds his own instruments, bringing an even deeper dimension to his music.
For this gala, we created two carefully designed moments, aimed at moving and surprising the audience. The opening, mysterious and vibrant, set the tone for the evening with an immersive atmosphere. The closing, on the other hand, embraced joy and energy, ending the event with an explosion of rhythm and connection.
The creative process was especially enriching. We started from our own compositions, reimagining, blending, and transforming them until a completely new piece emerged. The result was a work that reflects mutual respect and a shared passion for contemporary Japanese music.
Despite living in different cities, the collaboration flowed in a close and natural way. Because when there is a true artistic connection, distance ceases to be an obstacle.
May bridges between culture and rhythm continue to grow.
