TAIKOMON

Concerts

TaikoMon offers taiko concerts adapted to the space and conditions that the client requires.
We provide a unique taiko performance that, thanks to its energy, harmony, and staging, will leave no audience member indifferent. With a varied repertoire of both traditional and modern compositions, along with different costumes and set designs, we will make this concert a unique and immersive experience in Japanese culture.

ORIGINAL REPERTOIRE

Our extensive repertoire includes original pieces composed by our colleague Andrés Esteban. Andrés began his Taiko studies in 2014 and joined the TaikoMon company four years later, in 2018. He combines his musical training with his experience as a sound technician to create original works that captivate the audience. Pieces like “Shibuya” and “Tanuki” are accessible and easy to listen to, while experimenting with the language and rhythms inherent to Taiko and popular music.
You can now watch “Shibuya,” the piece we presented at the virtual concert “Asano Taiko US & Friends.” The piece is named after the bustling Tokyo district, home to the famous “Shibuya Crossing,” and alternates between moments of anticipation and frantic activity, evoking the rhythm of the big city.
Here we present “Tanuki,” inspired by the animal of the same name, also known as the Japanese raccoon dog.
The Tanuki is a mischievous and playful creature in folklore, with the ability to disguise itself and change forms. The musical phrases in “Tanuki” disguise themselves, mutate, and transform into other phrases, inviting you to play with sounds and rhythms.
You can watch the piece performed by Andrés and Mónica here—we hope you enjoy it as much as we do! “Tanuki-chan” is here!

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

If the performance takes place in a theater or indoor venue, the space must have a minimum height of 3 meters. If the performance is held in an outdoor space, the necessary permits or licenses for conducting musical activities in public or outdoor spaces will be required. The company is not responsible for obtaining these licenses.
Access to the stage or venue will be provided via the company’s own vehicle, and a reserved parking space will be needed for the vehicle during the performance. Dressing rooms or similar facilities will be required for the artists.

The space or venue must have good acoustics or, if necessary, a sound booth to amplify
the instruments, with a technician available if required.

If requested by the client and suitable for the event, audience participation can be included by inviting them on stage to play the taiko for the first time (please inquire).

Our musical repertoire includes traditional japanese songs, more modern compositions by international artists, and original compositions by the company.

If the stage has special conditions, we will need photos or videos of it before accepting the quote.
